Dr. Katie Leslie, DVM Veterinarian
Dr. Katie Leslie is a graduate of the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her undergraduate training at UNC Chapel Hill and did most of her growing up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her family has owned and loved all kinds of animals over the years, and her choice to become a veterinarian was motivated by her love of animals combined with an interest in medicine that was sparked by her mother’s career as a human emergency physician. Her special interests within veterinary medicine include exotic pets and cardiology.
Dr. Leslie and her husband, Jonah, are currently parents to two dogs, Triscuit and Appa, and a California king snake named Garrus. In her free time, Dr. Leslie is not-so-secretly a huge nerd who enjoys playing card and board games, reading fantasy novels, and watching sci-fi TV shows.
Jessi Skubic, Vet Tech
With 13 years of experience she is an invaluable team member. She keeps everything “behind the scenes” moving right along. She graduated from The University of Tennessee with a degree in Animal Science & also has 4 years of active military service. Working in private practice is very important to her because of the family environment. She enjoys really getting to know the clientele & being there for them in times of need. Jessi has two dogs that also have an important role at the clinic. They donate lifesaving blood for other animals in need. This is a cause close that is to her heart & she’s always happy to talk to clients about it. When not at work, Jessi loves to go hiking in the mountains with her family.
